Depression

Low self esteem, lack of motivation, lacking fun (or other quality of life issues).

Anxiety Related Disorders

PTSD, stress, phobias (including social phobias), lack of confidence, performance anxiety (including public speaking and sport performance), managing difficult people/assertion issues (see Relationship Issues), accident, personal injury, medical accidents and psychological trauma.

Obsessional Compulsive Disorders and Addictions

Addictions may include substances, gambling and shopping, or obsessional compulsive behaviours (OCD). Unwanted habits or unhelpful patterns of behaviour that result in a loss of quality in life.

Relationship Issues

Family, marital or sexual relationship issues (including gender identity issues), harassment at work or bullying, shyness and lack of social confidence. I work with adults, couples and adolescents.

Bereavement, grief and loss

Loss of a loved one, loss of health, loss/ending of a significant relationship, redundancy or retirement adjustment, any other losses or changes in life requiring adjustment/adaptation.

Anger management and assertion

Issues of physical and verbal abuse from either a receiving or giving focus. Managing difficult relationships in the work place, socially or family. Assertion skills or the art of influencing people.

Meaning and fulfilment in life

Coping with a "mid-life crisis”, finding the right career, establishing life values.

Pain management, long-term illness, major injury

Following an appropriate assessment and referral from a medical practitioner.

Unresolved childhood or past issues

Child abuse or neglect, other traumatic experiences even if years in the past.

Hypochondriasis

Fear of physical illness (fear of medical treatments/interventions) or over preoccupation with health issues in the absence of ill health.

If you do not see the issue you wish to bring to therapy here, please contact Laurie to discuss your needs.
